Thousand Full Moon: Shri. Govind Mukund Nitsure
Contributed By: Dr. Raghunath Boradkar
Shri. Govind Mukund Nitsure is 82 plus. He
was born in a small village, Pimpalner District Dhulia . a part of Khandesh.
His maternal Grandfather lived there.
At 82 plus he is quite healthy. He used to
suffer from Asthma till he was fifty. Then he started practicing Yoga and
Pranayam and was completely cured. Even now he does not suffer from any
ailments like Hypertension or Diabetes very specific to this age.
After his Matriculation he opted for a
Diploma in Civil Engineering and served in the Irrigation Department of
Government of Maharashtra. He feels everyone gets what is destined for him and
so has no regrets.
Here he narrates two incidents in his life
that have great significance for him . Lets have them from him in his own words.
The
first incidence I would like to narrate occurred when I was about eleven years
old. It happened two days before Ganesh
Chaturthi. We used to collect sand from
the river bed for decoration, a day before. At night when I was sleeping I
dreamt and saw a well built man with a
long beard and a very bright face telling me to collect the sand without
waiting as the river would be flooded after two days. I told my friends about
the dream and insisted that we collect the sand immediately. They did not
believe and were not keen but I was so
adamant that they agreed and we collected the sand the next day. The river
actually got flooded as the man in my dream had said.
The second incidence I wish o narrate is
really a turning point in my life. I retired from service in 1989. In 1990 we
left Sambhajinagar[Aurangabad]
to permanently settle in Pune.
I had nothing to do in Pune. One of my
friends suggested that I should join a consulting firm started by a Chief
Engineer. I agreed and decided to join in a couple of days. But it so happened
that the next day a person whom I consider to be a Yogi Purush came to our
residence. During our conversation he came to know that I was R.S.S.
swayamsevak and was jailed during the 1948
Sangh Satyagraha. He was a dedicated worker of Vishva Hindu Parishad and
he asked me to help him in his work. So I collected some more information about
his work and learnt that he used to go from door to door and collect funds for starting a nursery
school for lower income group children [Balwadi], and had succeeded in getting a place to do that. I was so
impressed that I decided to decline the offer in the consulting firm and
dedicated myself entirely to the work of Vishva Hindu Parishad. From 1991 I
have been selflessly working for this
and other organizations sponsored by the R.S.S.
Shri G.M. Nitsure has found his happiness
in this selfless work.
