Smt. Kumudini Keshav Deshpande born on 19th March
1928 in Satara district of Maharashtra. Her maiden name is Shanta Narayan
Salvekar got married to Keshav Shripad Deshpande in Pune in 1948.
In early years of marriage, they were in Hyderabad. Finally
decided to settle down in Aurangabad. She is blessed with 5 children. All of
them are well educated and well settled in their respective fields.
She was a famous teacher in well-known Saraswati Bhuvan
Education Society’s school in Aurangabad. During this period, she led arts and
cultural wing of the School.
While teaching she has supported lot of underprivileged
students through various ways and one of them was even staying at our home.
Socially, she was part of Railway Aandolan, Teachers
movement, delivering speeches on Akashwani and Various protests during emergency
period in the country.
Her passion for education and social activity is so
extraordinary that, even after retirement from Saraswati Bhuvan School, she
started Kilbil Balak Mandir in the year 1986 at her residence in Sanmitra
Colony with merely 4-5 students.
Looking at her dedication and passion, many like-minded people
got attracted in her journey and expanded school to 10th class with
1200 students; which is now known as “Anant Bhalerao Vidya Mandir”.
Once her school has taken a good shape, she opted to become
a part of Senior Citizen’s Club and actively participated in various activities
of Club by becoming Vice President. She
was also Editor of “Swanand” monthly newsletter of the club and even worked for
matrimony wing.
Her passion of Writing got flourished during this period and
she became part of Aksharsukta Sahitya Mandal. She is still enjoying writing
for various Daily Newspapers like Maharashtra times, Divya Marathi, Sakal etc.
and magazines published during Diwali.
She has published 4 books, “Paris”, “Mavalsrushti”, “Manatil
Phulora” and “Reshim Dhaage”
We children always astonished and inspired by our mother’s
energy and will power. We are blessed to
have such a versatile mother.
